June 14, 2009. I think I can do it. I want to do it. I know I can do it. I'm pretty much gonna do it!!!!!
I heavily thought about it last year since it is soooooo close to home, but at that point, I didn't have time to train for the swimming leg like it required. I'm not a good swimmer. Average, steady, just do it cause it's part of the journey. I did the Topeka Tinman Sprint Triathlon the day before the big Ironman 70.3 Kansas last June in Kansas. But if I'm going to go back to Kansas this year, it's going to be for the big one ~ IRONMAN 70.3 KANSAS.
So why am I thinking about this now? Kim. She planted the seed again and the more and more I think about it and the more blogs I peruse, the more inspired I get. I'm doing the cycling - got a coach, base training starts this week. I've got my running planned out - I'm my own coach. All I have to do is add swimming - anybody want to coach? If I do this and become an official Ironman 70.3, Kim, you and I are going out on the town cause I'm couch surfing at your house, right?!? And then I'm getting that tattoo! :D I still have time to think about it. Anybody else interested?
Today is a 5 mile run and a 60 min spin. Have a good one!
Top results are reached only through pain. But eventually you like this pain. You'll find the more difficulties you have on the way, the more you will enjoy your success.

Definitely go for it! That sounds like the Best challenge and the best victory when you have done it!
I would require intensive swimming training too, but it would be SOO Cool!
Do it!! It sounds amazing... I will try a sprint in the summer of next year and see where that takes me! Swimming is what I need to work on as well :) Good luck!
Go for it!! If I wasn't scared of riding a bike, that might be my next challenge!
Go for it. I would like to try this out, but where I live there are no good places to practice swimming.
OF COURSE you have a place at my house!
I'm so excited!
I did the officially registration for my first HM yesterday! So, just go for it. I can't wait. I had planned to do a 1/2 tri this coming year, but settled for the HM instead. I know I'm not ready for the other-yet! I at this point have no intentions of doing a IM-but then again, I NEVER thought I'd be loving running either!
WHOHOOO! I am so ecited for you taking the 70.3 plunge. We can get through this together. I am training for my first 70.3 in April, so it will be a blast following you through your training!
Awesome! There is no doubt you can make it happen. I can't help you with the swimming, but definitely get some coaching for that because it's all about technique. Have fun with the training!
You're committed now! Be brave!!
oh my gosh - this is so amazing. I cant even imagine! cant wait to follow your journey!
If only I could swim. I'm not allowed to at the moment due to a poor shoulder. That sounds like a great time.
Wow! Thats great! I am sure you can do it!
WOW! I'm so impressed :) You'll rock it!
Awesome!
You are so hardcore! I don't even know how you can do it. Go for it!
DO IT DO IT!! You're so going to rock!
Awesome! I also think you should GO FOR IT.
Kansas is hot in June, probably not much different than Nebraska though...best of luck to you.
Awesome, I look forward to reading all about your training.
You ROCK! Wow, is all I have to say.
I got to be a fan at the AZ Ironman a couple weeks ago. It's truly amazing. You are going to love it. And you have to do a 70.3 distance to do the full.
I can't imagine doing a quarter Ironman, let alone 70.3.
Good luck!
sounds like a great goal. I am excited to hear about the training.
Good luck girlie!!
I have no clue what the 70.3 is but i am sure its great and amazing!!!
