Rode the Wilderness

to his chagrin, i hauled my hubby out 2 Wilderness Park & we rode the trails. found out about 45 min in2 our ride, he doesn't have any shocks on his bike. he was pretty roughed up from taking a beatin. imagine if he had a trail with actual roots & logs. he'd never made it. lol new bike for him too. yeah!

we found the limestone after passing through a few danger signs & rode the limestone for a bit. i did a few sprints & home we went. it's a great day 2 ride your bike.

Manawa Pre-ride

fun! fun! fun! great course. flat. twisty-curvy. fast. every man, woman and child should be out there saturday. :)

rode the whole course, green, blue and black. blacks were a riot. if you weren't a tree hugger b4, you could be one on this course. lots of twists, close trees, very few roots. great course to get comfortable with mtb skills. goal today was to ride w/very little breaking. ya. uhummmm. rode the course 4x. each time got a bit smoother as i felt more comfortable with my bike and ridin through curves, shimmying by trees, leaning my bike and eyes focused ahead.

when i got back 2 Lincoln, i went to Wilderness Park and rode. much less technical then Manawa and Manawa is very little technical. continued working on that comfort level and moving my bike through the ruts with speed and flowing through the curves. see ya saturday.

MTB Swanson Challenge

what a race. lol. smacked by shin with my pedals. blood oozing down my leg. ouch. need clipons. i think. :) bike slid out from under me (tire spin/slide climbin) which is when i gave up first place trying to get back on and then t-boned a tree. what a riot. still maintained second place. met a lot of good women and loved the competitive edge they brought to the competition. past two races, competition has been weak. the more the better, i think. pushes you and forces you to dig deep to see what ya really got. :)
