Marathon Couch Surfing

Today is a 7-mile run. It looks to me, like it might be a treadmill run. With snow and rain on it's way, I'll go rock it out and enjoy the indoor elements and fantasize about running down a long winding trail with trees and blue skys and not a soul in sight. :)

The Lincoln Marathon is May 3, 3009. If you are running or are interested in running and need a place to stay, I have 3 couches and lots of floor space. How cool would that be? Here is a link to the Lincoln Marathon site, however it is not updated for the 2009 race other than stating the date. My husband, who is my sherpa, would take very good care of us!

Tomorrow I officially start my cycling training program so I'm meeting with my coach today to set up a plan of action. I don't have any racing goals, yet, cause I've never raced a road bike before only toured, so why am I doing this? I did some mountain bike racing a couple years ago and loved it! So, why not try road racing. My goal is to train the right way through all the training periods: base, periodization, peak, race, transition and to build strength and speed on the bike. Challenge is on!

Hope everyone had a great Holiday!

Pick Me! Pick Me!

And on a side note-I needed to get some Hammer products-but once I saw you're new outfit-I had to get one too.

Something to think about...Mr. Half Ironman? We have one in Lawrence (out my backdoor) in June.

I'm always in awe when someone says they are doing a longish run on the treadmill. I just can't make it much past 3 miles on the treadmill. BORING

Seven miles indoors?! Wow...

Yikes, that's a long tm run... but at least you're getting it done! Enjoy the couch day... i want to develop a cycling plan too, not necessarily to road race, but to do possibly do a sprint tri next year, and to do a 4 day tour next summer. I'll be following your adventure! :)

I'm of mixed emotion regarding this snow right now. It's so pretty and a little frolicing run right now seems nice! But on the other hand, the whole "having to watch my feet the whole time so I don't slip and die" thing sort of gets in the way...

Aw, that's so nice of you to open up your home. I'm sure you'll find some takers.

Frist of all - how nice are you to open your home to weary runners! Very nice. Also - last winter I ran inside on a treadmill the whole season. I never made it past 5 miles, so good luck!

I will be running the Lincoln Marathon next year also. We always stay in a hotel though. A mini vacation.

LOL @ lots of floor space!!

While the treadmill is boring, I've done tons of long runs on it. I think it actually helps me with my pacing.

Well Marcy, I've always wanted to go to NY! How about we swap cushions?? LOL

Good job on the treadmill. Good luck with your road bike training, looking forward to reading about it.

it made me laugh so hard to read that your husband was your sherpa! That is what we called my dad when he accompanied my sister, mom, and I to the Las Vegas Iron Girl in the spring. I love it!

Hello! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform
are you using for this website? I'm getting tired of Wordpress because I've had issues
with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

I think everything composed made a lot of sense.
However, think on this, suppose you added a little information?

I ain't saying your information is not solid., but what if you added a headline to possibly get folk's attention?
I mean "Marathon Couch Surfing" is kinda boring. You could
look at Yahoo's home page and watch how they create news titles to get people to click. You might add a related video or a picture or two to get people interested about everything've got to say.
In my opinion, it would make your posts a little
livelier.
