Serious Self-Talk Sunday

Ok, I've got all day to write. After I finish the laundry, do the dishes, make the bed, create a spin workout, teach a spin workout, run 8 miles, do my lesson plans, update my calendar, pick up the kiddos, practice drum, read and put a relaxed smile on my face just in time for Mr. McRib to come home from hunting. Hmm, Yum. Love the smell of pheasant. GAG!

Winter is settling in, I'm cold all the time, even in a hot, hot shower, I crave sweets 24/7 and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed managing all that is on my plate. I'm also tired of shopping. GAH! I can't believe I'm saying that! I love to shop. Lesiure shop ~ which means shopping for workout clothes. We've had sooo many birthdays, then there was Thanksgiving, we hosted a wine party, now Christmas and more birthdays, not to mention clothes for Holiday party's. phew! I think when January 1 rolls around, I'm going to vow not to spend another minute at the mall. I better put it on my list to get that last pair of running shoes before then. Back to the mall. :D I'll have three to rotate and that should get me through Ironman KS. OK....

Because I''m feeling frazzled, like I have no plan even tho I do, I'm dedicating every Sunday as a Serious Self-Talk Sunday to balance my happenings. Every Sunday I'll sit down for one hour(s) to review my goals, process what happened in the past week and plan for the future week(s).

Here's Where I'm Headed and what I have to discipline to every day.... {with more to be added as the year progresses}
  • State Farm Run
  • Lincoln Half Marathon
  • Ironman 70.3 Kansas
  • Triple Bypass
  • RAGBRAI
  • Other competition events not yet on calendar
  • Cycling Training with Coach
  • Lose 10-15 pounds/Lower Body Fat %
  • Job Search vs. Self-Employment [Photography]
  • Bigger, Faster, Stronger Program [map out] {kiddos}
  • Virtual Run Across America
  • The Shirt That Races
  • Wrestling Practice/Meets [kiddos]
  • Basketball [oldest kiddo]
  • Teaching cycling classes at the YMCA
  • Daily H20 Intake
  • Daily Nutrition
  • Positive Daily Eating Choices
  • Business Plan for Photog Business [need a new camera]
  • Daily workouts, cycling/running/swimming
  • Friday Family Nights
I need to KICK IT UP A NOTCH, so I feel with an intentional review of my goals every Sunday, the process will help refine/define my focus leading to a more intentional disciplined week and excitement of getting one step closer to where I'm going. So I'm off to review, refine, change what doesn' work and make better what does work.

Today is a 60 min spin and an 8 mile run. Sun's out, high of 42 degrees. It's going to be road run. Run on peeps!

Don't be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.

Those are some serious goals. Are they in order of your priority or just a random list? I'm sure you will achieve them!

Thank God I'm not the only one craving sweets 24/7 and always cold! What's with that?! Nice goals, I would kill for it to be 42 degrees and be able to go for a road run! It's 5 degrees here in SE WI and another huge snow storm due monday night into tuesday-calling for up to 10 inches of the fine 'white stuff' again. Thank God for snow shoes, I seem to have put my runners on the shelf for now-hopefully not for long.

Awesome goals you have there, and even before New Years Day....I totally agree with you about the busyness of this time of year...I always think it will slow down after Jan 1, but it never does....

Is Triple By Pass a run or elective surgery? Either way, good luck on all that you want to accomplish.

I'd love to do RAGBRAI someday.

Love your goals. My husband makes fun of all my lists of goals. (I've noticed a lot of runners do this, it must be something in our personalities.:)

Oh man, I totally know what you mean about being cold ALL the time. I would sleep in my winter boots if that were a possibility.
