Time to Buy a Treadmill???

Weather prediction for today:
3-5" of snow (wet snow)
3 degrees
Wind chill -14

Enough reasons to contemplate the purchase of a treadmill. Now I just need a convincing, persuading, can't live without out it sales pitch to give McRib (dh).

I'm thinking a Top 10 list might work and I know all you running peeps out there can help me out. Please comment with your suggestions for a Top 10 compilation. I'm begging you please, please, please..... help a chic that's dying to run!!!! :D

I will accept funny, serious, and riskque(sp??) help! Until then, I'm going to drink my morning java.

Run on!

If you're going to take the time to travel to Kansas 4 times this year, you need to get in the training!

I'm definitely in training... at the YMCA treadmill! :D A TM at home would make things more convenient, less miles on the road and I could run in my bra and panties. What a sight! OWWWW!!!!

It's a safety issue! Honestly. What more can a man need than that?

I could use a treadmill for Christmas myself!! This rain is killing my training plans!

All ways go with the money and time saving reasons. It always works for me.

LOL~ I was going to say... "Tell him you will run naked or just in your sportsbra" but you beat me to it....

I need one so badly, not only can I not run outside on this snowy, sleeting day, I can't even drive to the YMCA cause the roads are so slippery. Schools were even closed for peets sake.... Let me know what works, so I can try it too.

yikes! check out that nasty weather!
you might be able to persuade him with the promise of some hot treadmill action, although that sounds a little dangerous. it would probably void the warranty anyway.

yeah, today is a good hot chocolate day..I was going to run but there is no way...

tell him he can buy something for himself of equal value that he wants....

Tell him that you'll run neked. ;-)

With a treadmill you will be safer from getting caught in a blizzard and ending up freezing in a snowbank.

If I had the space I would invest in a treadmill! It's safety and you'll save time and $ how could he turn you down :)

It's time! It's time. Gosh sadly, I'm thinking of investing and I am no where near your climate!

I bet the treadmill would STILL be cheaper than an ER visit from hypothermia or slip-on-ice injury.

Gotta appeal to the $$$. I'm working on that myself. Somehow, the argument that "honey, you can use it too!" just doesn't cut it.

Usually, I am not too big a fan of dreadmills, but seeing the conditions, I can see your wish...

Personally, I would not let the Missus go outside for a run in those conditions... Safety would be a good argument, I guess.

Just think how tough it will make you to run in such weather.:)

Treadmills aren't THAT bad... :) Especially if growing icicles out of your nose is the other option!!!

I just wish it would snow without the bitter cold.

I'm no help with a treadmill, but I think you should sell the bra and panties part. :o)

Here's my two cents worth!

Running on a treadmill your body gets hot, running outside in that weather your body gets cold!

Given the choice, wouldn't any guy prefer a hot body over a frigid one!!!

From personal experience, the switch to mostly indoor winter running came after (1) spraining my ankle and pulling ligaments in my foot/ankle/leg that took almost 2 years to heal; (2) falling on black ice on my left knee and that taking months to heal; (3) my friend slipping and falling and hitting her head, with a trip to the emergency room; (4) same friend falling and breaking a wrist; (5) running when it was 25 below; (6) getting hit by a car; (7) (really, need I go on??) I never ran inside until 3 years ago, after all of the aforementioned catastrophes. I really think with the options we have, why not have a treadmill if you can afford it and have room. Safety and comfort may prolong your life more than exercise!
