Running In Circles

Usually when I have long runs, I will run one direction and McRib will come pick me up. I get bored running in a circle, so I will will usually just head towards Lincoln and whatever time or mileage later, my dear hubby {McRib} will pick me up. I love this! Per my training scheduled, Sunday was a 90 min run, but no McRib. McRib was out west hunting [5 hours away] so I had to adjust. It was a beautiful day and of course I managed anyways without him. To prove it, I took some pics of my journey.

Here's a pic sporting my new Brooks! It's their first run.

and we're off...
mile 1...

can't forget the shadow pic...
what do you mean stop? I'm not stopping now!
famous senior picture bridge...
there's my sorority grafitti {Phi Sigma Tau}....
nearing the halfway point...

halfway...bridge atop the superslab {I-80}...
fueled up for the last half....{still running}

and we're circling back....

nearing the end...
and we're home!I had a great run! My new shoes were great and ice packs felt even greater on my calves! WOOT! Per yesterday's post regarding compression socks, I will be receiving a free pair of muscle recovery leg sleeves in the mail from Zensah for a product review. DOUBLE WOOT!! Stay tuned.

Today's workout: 60 min spin and 7x400 5K pace. RUN ON!

D.mn, that looks like a great run.
Great pics.

Love the shadow pic!
I only discovered the joy of taking pictures during a run last Sunday, and it's great!
As soon as there is any possibility (read: Any sun -- LOL!), I will do a shadow pic too

McRib - my dear hubby loves to smoke/bbq ribs and I love to eat them. They are quite fabulous. Hence the nickname McRib. :D

loved the pictures of your run! I liked to be picked up from my runs too but sometimes it just doesn't work out! Way to go!

How nice not having to run on pavement. Looks like a great run.

That's a great idea to have the hubs pick you up. I might have to see if I can pull that one off...

I was going to suggest you hop on the bus and get off 10 miles from home, but I guess there's no mass transit outside your door.

I've heard of people dropping their loved ones off far away from home and letting them run home.

Pat, I'd rather be "picked up" than "dropped off". LOL

LOVE that run -- so pretty, serene, scenic! (I'll have to start bringing my camera on long runs ... my bloggy friends are inspiring me :))

I don't mind running in circles, I hate running to a point, then turning back and taking the same route back. I just start thinking how far I have to go yet instead of how far I've already gone! Damn those mind games! Nice run-where the hell is the snow! We have extra! I'm shipping some right now via UPS, keep your eyes out for big brown!

love the pictures of your run. I think I might try it for my 11 miler this weekend. I am sure they will all look the same and a tad bit boring. Oh well.

A few years ago, I was training with a friend of mine, his daughter would get up at 5 with us and drive us up to the top of the canyon and then we would run home. Now I just run out and back.

I seriously don not know how you can get bored running with views like that. I also run over I-80 over here.

a) Did you run on any actual pavement during your trip? haha

and b) SORORITY GRAFFITI?! I was in a sorority, and we definitely didn't do any of that!

What, you couldn't run the 5 hours to him? ;-)

I love the photos!

Looks like a nice quiet run. I'm jealous. Tough to find that here in NYC.

ah those photos make me wish I still lived out of town.. there was one hill that was cool, when I came over the top the sheep in the field would all run over to the side of the fence to watch me run by.. the cows didn't care to much..

Cheers.

How neat. I would have slipped and fallen 1000 times on that ice.

It looks like you have some great area to run in!

I have heard that the compression socks work great. Let us know how you like them (of course that what a review is lol)

Nice run, and looks like beautiful country. I think you'll like the Zensah sleeves. I have been wearing them for about 5 months - after I pulled a muscle in my calf - and really think they help with muscle stabilization and improved blood flow to the muscles. Which helps with faster recovery.

Run on!
